Painting series #2
Natural Abstracts
"Natural abstracts" is the phrase I originally used to describe photographs — usually extreme closes-ups — of natural objects in which the subject is lost and all that remains is a pleasing shape, line, and play of colour and light. You will see many of these in my "botanical" photographs. More recently, I have begun to use these as the starting point for a series of paintings — another sort of experiment — in palette knife, finished in pen and ink, and integrating text.
